Second funding period for Mu3e experiment

11.4.2025

The DFG Research Unit “Search for the lepton-flavour violating decay with the Mu3e experiment” (FOR 5199) will continue its successful work in a second funding period of four years. André Schöning from the PI and Hans-Christian Schultz-Coulon from the KIP, together with colleagues from Karlsruhe and Mainz and international partners from England and Switzerland, will attempt to detect the possible decay of a positively charged muon elementary particle (Mu+) into two positrons (2e+) and an electron (e-) using a state-of-the-art particle detector.
