Lecture Notes of the 56th Heidelberg Graduate Days in Physics

For the first time, we aim to compile a set of lecture notes based on the courses of the 56th Heidelberg Graduate Days in Physics (April 7–10, 2026) and publish them on arXiv as a joint volume. This project is meant to create a lasting scientific outcome of the school — something that goes beyond the four days and remains useful to future students.

Contributing as an Author

Each lecture will be written up jointly by the lecturer and 1–2 PhD students. We are explicitly looking for participants who are willing to take on this role. The process is collaborative: lecturers will provide guidance and feedback, while PhD authors take the lead in structuring and writing the notes.

Contributing to the lecture notes offers:

• experience in scientific writing and exposition,
• the opportunity to work closely with a lecturer,
• and a citable publication as part of a coherent volume.

Scope and Format

The notes should present the material in a clear and pedagogical way, making it accessible beyond the immediate audience of the lectures.

A shared LaTeX template is provided to ensure a consistent structure across all contributions. Writing will take place via Overleaf.
