Constructive gravity allows to calculate the Lagrangian for gravity, provided one previously prescribes the Lagrangian for all matter fields on a spacetime geometry of choice. In five lectures and five associated hands-on workshops, we develop the physical and mathematical foundation of this result and point out how how this allows to tackle questions about gravity and matter that could not even be meaningfully asked before.
