Quantum Gravity as a Quantum Field Theory (PLEASE NOTE unusual day, time and location; Tea at 16:00, Talk at 16:30)

Benjamin Knorr , ITP Heidelberg
One of the biggest open questions in fundamental theoretical physics is how to formulate a single theory that describes both quantum and gravitational aspects at all scales. In this talk, I want to explore how far we can get in quantum gravity if we insist on using quantum field theory. I will review this idea in the context of Asymptotic Safety, and highlight some recent results on comparing its predictions to positivity bounds originating from effective field theory considerations.
